My name is Ann Jacobson and I am an independent saddle fitter. Through my own personal experience, I know how important the saddle can be to your horse’s happiness and your riding ability, along with the frustration that comes with finding the right fit. I am here to help. Once you have found the right saddle, I am available to help maintain the great fit.
I am trained by the Society of Master Saddlers and I believe in continuing education. I am currently completing an extensive certification process under a Society of Master Saddlers qualified fitter. The final step for qualification is a trip to England for formal testing. In addition, I studied under a Certified Fitter by Master Saddlers and shadowed a saddle designer from Holland.
I got into horses at a young age while participating in 4-H and trail riding with my mom and sisters in Clarinda, Iowa. I stopped riding during college, but after graduating from Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, I got back into riding. I decided to learn to Event and started leasing my horse, Fox, to learn the ropes. With his previous owner, he had competed at Preliminary. After I bought Fox, one challenge I had was finding a saddle which both he and I like. Over the years, my struggles with finding saddle fitters that I liked and the appropriate saddle made me interested in saddle fitting.
I am located in Hampton Roads Area and travel throughout Virginia and North Carolina. I will be going back to the Twin Cities area for all of my loyal clients in the Midwest. Please email me if you want to be added to the Midwest list.
